Em 2016, a Aberdare Cables foi adquirida por um fabricante de cabos chinês, Hengtong. O Hengtong O grupo opera em 120 países, possui 9 bases de fabrico no estrangeiro e detém 5 marcas, incluindo a Aberdare.
