The grand occasion drew a distinguished gathering of industry leaders, loyal customers, government officials, and community partners. The hotel’s sophisticated ambience, adorned with shimmering lights and tasteful décor, set the perfect stage for an evening filled with nostalgia and anticipation. The commemorative event not only honoured the company’s rich legacy, tracing its remarkable journey from 1946, but also showcased its unwavering commitment to driving innovation, advancing economic development, and empowering communities across the nation.

Guiding the evening’s proceedings was the ever-charismatic Mr Lawrance Maleka, who returned as MC and immediately captivated the audience with his lively humour and infectious energy. Maleka’s heartfelt introductions paved the way for MSD Executive Director, Mr Mishack Matla, to take the stage. The evening’s distinguished guest speaker, Mr Qiu Zhongyi, Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, took the stage with poise and gravitas. The evening’s entertainment reached its pinnacle with a show-stopping performance by the iconic duo Mafikizolo. As soon as the MC announced their appearance, an electric wave of excitement swept through the venue, and guests eagerly surged toward the stage, their faces alight with anticipation. Mafikizolo did not disappoint; their vibrant stage presence and infectious energy had the entire crowd swaying, dancing, and singing along to beloved hits like “Nisixoshelani,” “Ndihambe Nawe,” and many more.
